As a first generation Mexican-American from South Central Los Angeles, and a University of Southern California Alum, Gaby began organizing as a student in high school and later within her community through various outlets, ie. research, organizing and planning. Upon realizing the importance of organizing communities to demand for social change, the impact of organizing on her own development as a youth, and seeing how change can happen when those closest to oppression are resourced and build power, she hasn’t stopped organizing. “Each one teach one, each one reach one.” – Katie Rainge-Briggs, Gaby’s high school teacher & mentor

Based in Los Angeles, Gaby spent the last six years at Power California, building the power and leadership of young people of color in California through organizing members, providing programmatic support for various statewide campaigns and being a resource for young people and the staff of the organization.
